Here to Help!

The ‘Here to Help’ service offers staff on-demand, bookable, actual-human support when using the university’s digital education services from My Dundee to Hybrid Teaching. This replaces the old drop-in style approach, supplementing existing support offered through Help4u, and providing more support options to the user community. Book now via the Microsoft bookings tool.

Initial Services you can Book

To start with, we intend to offer two bookable services:

1. Help with a teaching space (10-minute slots, in person)

One of the teaching spaces team will meet you in the room at the start of your timetabled teaching session and talk you through getting set up. This service is aimed at anyone who feels unsure about using the room technology and would like someone there at the beginning.

Note that this service is limited to the city campus at this point and is only available to staff engaged in timetabled teaching activities. Also note that it is not intended as a ‘we’ll do it for you’ service – our goal is to support you until you feel confident with the kit.

2. Help me with my digital education service (20-minute slots, online via Teams)

Book an online appointment with one of the service team who will meet you online and help with any of our digital education services including My Dundee, Turnitin, etc. This service aims to guide you through common tasks, answer questions and help you get more out of the services we offer.

As with other services, these appointments are aimed at empowering and developing skills, not doing tasks for you.

More to come

We will be running this service as a pilot for the rest of Semester 2 and will review its effectiveness in the summer. If successful we can look at adding more bookable services in the future.
