Welcome to My Dundee (students)

Welcome to My Dundee for the new academic year 2018/19 and a special hello to those of you who are joining us for the first time.

My Dundee, which is based on a platform called Blackboard, provides online spaces for all your modules where you can find course content, chat forums, assessments and many other online resources provided by your course leaders. Without going into too much detail at this point, you can expect to see some overdue changes, including interface changes coming to My Dundee between now and next academic year, so keep an eye out for further notices (here’s a hint).

If you’re new to My Dundee here’s some key information that will help you get started:

Signing In:

If you haven’t discovered this already you sign into My Dundee using your main account credentials. If you’ve already signed into something like your email through Office 365, you may find you don’t need to sign in again.

Getting Help:

There are three main ways to get support with My Dundee. Firstly you can access the generic support here on the Blackboard Help pages. Note that there may be some differences between the way your My Dundee looks and works and how these help pages are layed out.

Secondly, if you have any issues, such as errors or things that aren’t working as you’d expect, you can contact help4u. Your request for help will be routed to the right person. Please try to give as much detail as possible when reporting problems.

Finally, you can also contact your module leaders who are responsible for the content being delivered through your online module areas. If you have any questions about what you should be doing or that you can’t find something on your module, they are you best first port of call.

Can’t see your modules?

While people’s module choices are being finalised, there can sometimes be problems with students being enrolled on the correct courses, which means that they won’t see the module on My Dundee. Your first port of call should be your module leaders or school admin to make sure you are properly registered. Once this is done, you will be automatically enrolled in My Dundee within 24 hours.
