Announcing the Integrated Video Project
In recent years, we have made significant gains in enhancing our video capabilities to better support student learning. From lecture capture and hybrid delivery to the production of rich asynchronous video content, the university has been committed to leveraging technology to improve the learning experience. My Dundee Maintenance – 5th January 2018
What’s Happening My Dundee will be taken offline for maintenance on the morning of the 5th of January 2018. It is planned that the service will be restored on the same day, though there will be an at risk period that extends to Monday the 8th. At Risk? It can be very easy to accidentally create a 2nd part in Turnitin - the impact can be a very worrying for staff, as it looks as if all your students have failed! Turnitin – Academic Integrity Day.
Turnitin's annual User Summit was held on October 19th in Newcastle. They have noted that they are trying to address more of the needs of UK HE, and the keynote was by Kerr Gardiner , discussing the main themes from his consultation with a range of UK Universities (including Dundee). Then followed the obligatory technical presentation, on the directions that Turnitin are taking. Questionmark On Demand (Update)
The project to upgrade Questionmark (the University's primary quiz tool for formative and summative assessment) to the cloud based 'OnDemand' service is continuing after a previously reported delay. The project is on course to move be completed after a controlled transition by February 2018 with formative assessments starting to be moved from the end of November. Turnitin – Service issue – Resolved.
Turnitin issued the following service announcement at 3:32pm today. TurnitinUK experienced an outage between 13:50 and 14:55 GMT. The service is now accessible again. UK users accessing our service via an integration may have been affected over this period. Users of the Turnitin.com service would not have been affected. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
