Connect a device wirelessly in a teaching room

What is it?

This guide will show you how to connect a range of common devices to your PC wirelessly in a hybrid teaching room.


What does it do?

You can connect a range of devices to your PC including tablets, mobile phones and laptops.


What should I know?

Step 1: The first thing you should do is ensure is that you are connected to the Eduroam WiFi network. Visit the UoDIT guide on how to do this.

Step 2: Connect your device:

To connect to a Windows laptopPress the Windows key and the K key at the same time
To connect to a MacBookClick the screen mirroring icon on your menu bar


To connect to an Apple device (iPad/iPhone)Swipe down from the top right of your device’s screen and click the screen mirroring icon (iPad) or (iPhone)
To connect to an Android device (phone/tablet)Refer to your manufacturer’s instructions for sharing your screen

Step 2: Select the entry that corresponds to the room that you are in

Step 3: When you are asked for a pin, enter the four-digit pin shown above

Your device is now connected

To disconnect, follow step one again and click Disconnect for Windows devices or Stop AirPlay for Apple devices.

For Android devices, follow the initial connection steps and refer to your manufacturers instructions.
