Forthcoming events from the Academic Skills Centre (ASC)

Monica Matthews, Academic Skills for Staff Co-ordinator, has asked me to circulate the following news about forthcoming events from ASC:

The Academic Skills Centre will be focussing on Distance Learning in this year’s Sharing Good Practice Lunchtime Seminar Series, which kicks off on 31 October (fancy dress not required!) with our new Academic Lead for Distance and Blended Learning, Dr Susie Schofield. She will present Dundee’s strong commitment to DL, and map areas of development to the Dundee strategy in light of current trends affecting Higher Education. Professor Gráinne Conole, Head of Open Education Unit, National Institute for Digital Learning, Dublin City University, will be presenting the next Sharing Good Practice Seminar by webinar on Wednesday 21^st November  around lunchtime. She will be discussing the 7Cs of Learning Design framework which ‘aims to help practitioners make pedagogically informed design decisions that make appropriate use of technologies’.
