What is it?
Statistics are available to Creators and Administrators at the Session and Folder levels. This guide will show how to access these statistics via our Panopto platform as well as My Dundee, this guide will also highlight what information is included.
What does it do?
Once your video is in Panopto, you can publish it your module channel, make a reference copy to your module, embed it in your module (for instructors). Once the video is in your Panopto Module folder you will be able to view the folder level statistics.
What should I know?
You should know how to navigate to your Panopto Module channel from both My Dundee and our Panopto site.
My Module Statistics
Step 1: Go to dundee.cloud.panopto.eu/ and login using UoD Single Sign-On.
Step 1.1 (alternative): If you want to navigate via your Module folder. Open the module in My Dundee and navigate to the Panopto channel and click on the Stats icon.
Step 2: Select Browse from the left-hand navigation, select My Folders on the left-hand column, and then expand the My Dundee dropdown and locate and select the folder / Module to which you want to view the statics for. Alternatively you can type your module code in the search folder
Step 3: After choosing your folder, select the Stats icon in the top right corner. Alternatively, you can select the dropdown menu icon and select Stats
Step 4: The Folder Dashboard provides three statistical charts with a flexible time range selector in the top right corner. Users can choose from “Any time,” “Last 7 days,” “Last 30 days,” “Last 90 days,” or select a custom time range.
Step 5: The first graph listed is Views and Downloads by Day. This graph shows Views and Downloads (number of views and downloads across all videos in the folder), Unique Viewers (number of unique people who have accessed the folder), and Minutes Delivered (number of minutes streamed and downloaded combined) for the folder and its subfolders.
The next item is the Top Sessions table. It lists the top video sessions from the folder and can be arranged either alphabetically by Session name, Folder name, Top-Level Folder name, and Creator, or by the number of Views and Downloads, Minutes Delivered, Average Minutes Delivered, and Unique Viewers Note: if you would like statistics on a particular video session listed, select the video session’s name.
Step 4: There are two ways to download the reports. Either on the chart itself in the top righthand corner or at the bottom of the page.
Session Statistics
Step 1: Locate the video you want the statistics for, and hover over it. Select the More icon, represented by three dots, and then select Stats. Note: You can also select the Stats icon from the top right corner of a video session that is open in your web browser
Step 2: The Session Dashboard page will be displayed, showing statistics for this particular video session. You can change the time range for your report in the drop-down box
Step 3: The first graph listed on the Session Analytics page is Views and Downloads by Day. This graph shows Views and Downloads (number of views and downloads of just this video), Unique Viewers (number of unique people who have accessed this video), and Minutes Delivered (number of minutes streamed and downloaded combined) for this particular video session
Step 4: The second graph listed is Viewer Engagement. This graph details the Views and Interactions a video session has had as well as the type of interaction (Views, Comments, Notes) and at what point in the video session it occurred.
Step 5: The third item is the Top Viewers table. It lists the top viewers of the video session and can be arranged alphabetically for Viewer or by the number of Views and Downloads, Minutes Delivered, Average Minutes Delivered, Percent Completed, Notes, and Comments
Step 6: There are two ways to download a Session Statistics report. The first is to select the Download button for the report you want to download. The button is located in the top right corner of both the Views and Downloads by Day chart and the Top Viewers table
