What is it?
Staff can now generate test questions using Blackboards AI Design Assistant. It provides suggestions for formative and summative assessments based on the course context you select using its AI capabilities.
What does it do?
The AI Design Assistant provides test question suggestions, you can add description to further focus the question , adjust the complexity and select the number of questions required for the test. You can also choose from a number of question types like Essay, Fill in the blank, matching , Multiple choice question, and True/False. You can review and edit the questions as needed.
What should I know?
Step 1: In the test creation panel, select “Auto-generate question” from the new question menu (accessible via the plus button).
Step 2: Refine the generated questions using the “Auto-Generate Questions” panel:
- Add an optional description (up to 2000 characters) to narrow the focus of the questions.
- Adjust the complexity of the questions.
- Select the desired number of questions.
- Use the “Advanced options” to change the output language if needed.
Step 3:Choose from various question types, including Essay, fill in the blank, matching, multiple choice, and true/false.
Step 4: Optionally, provide context by selecting specific course items.
Step 5: Once you’ve finalized all settings, click “Generate.”
Step 6: Review the generated questions for accuracy and bias. Edit questions as necessary to align with your learning goals.
