What is it?
It is a course page enhancement with the module of ‘My Dundee’ . This enhancement is introduced by our VLE vendor Blackboard in order to enhance user experience by improving the structure of the page, differentiation between various course elements, and the presentation of top-level and nested content items.
What does it do?
September release of Blackboard ‘My Dundee’, announced several changes aimed at enhancing the user experience of the module content page. These changes focus on improving the structure of the page, distinguish between various course elements, and the presentation of top-level and nested content items.
What should I know?
New Page Structure
The structure of the content page has now been revised, with the navigation menu shifting from the left-hand side to the right. This change is intended to direct attention to the most important elements first, allowing users to focus more effectively on key learning content and activities. Alongside improvements to the colour palette and other visual elements, this update aims to make the page more intuitive and visually pleasing.
Change in Content presentation
Another key area of improvement is the differentiation between learning modules, folders, and content items. In the current design users sometimes find it challenging to distinguish between these elements which can lead to confusion and inefficiency in navigating the course materials.
These improvements aim to create a more organised and user-friendly experience, helping both instructors and students navigate their courses with greater ease and clarity.

These improvements are carried out to enhance user experiences and better organise the content area.
